Friends

Over the last few months Emery has taken an interest in playing with other kids. It's a fun stage to see develop. She's starting to understand sharing but she hates to do it and still throws a fit most of the time. But she is learning and that is very rewarding to watch. Because of Emery's new found ability to play WITH children instead of just BY them, she and Bella have become good little friends. They are really
cute and get along well...usually.  :)

Bella barely fits on this trike by herself but she and Emery love to ride around on it together. It's so funny! Sometimes Bella even lets Emery "drive"!

  1. Regarding the sharing thing, I just want to share with you a little thought. Developmentally, really young children Emery's age and younger are not really quite ready to share. That doesn't mean we shouldn't try to teach it, but my mom told me once what she did with her kids (it really irritated her sister, but it worked well). If we didn't want to share our toys, she would have us take the toys we didn't want to share to our room to play by ourselves. She said there were times when we would choose to play alone, but that we would soon decide it was more important to play with the other kids than to have our toys to ourselves. Just something to think about. I've done it with my kids. It generally ends the strife. :)
