Sold!

Come September 28th this baby is OURS (or...the banks...but sort of ours!)

We are hoping to close at the end of the month and so far everything is on track. I've held off mentioning it on the blog because I'm a bit superstitious and didn't want bad luck holding us up. :) It's a cute little house, newly built, and in a great location. Gavin will have a 10 minute commute to work (awesome!). We like the neighborhood and know quite a few people in it as it has been dubbed "Little Utah" by some people in our ward. I can't WAIT to move in and make it OUR HOME. It makes me squeal with excitement just thinking about it!

It is quite finished yet, but we peeked through the windows today and it's looking pretty close! The appliances go in on Tuesday, we are getting it inspected on Wednesday, and then we have our first walk through with the builder on Friday.

To sum up, this is how I feel:    >^_^<

This is the backyard, Emery is excited too!

Emery

Here's a few of my recent favorite pictures of Emery. She's almost 11 months old--time flies!

Food face

I guess it's just more fun to eat if you smear it all over your face.

Flaming Gorge

We've been back from Idaho for a few weeks now and I'm just getting around to blogging about it. It was a jam-packed couple of weeks and we were able to see almost everyone we wanted to see and do everything we wanted to do. We had some fun mini-trips, one of which was to Flaming Gorge to go camping with Gavin's parents and Tobin, Whitney, and Maylee. It was so FUN and we had some amazing dutch oven meals.
Cutest picture EVER. Maylee loved to pop around there and  "scare" us all

Classic Wyoming landscape in the last picture. Sagebrush and a setting sun. At night the sun was really red so we had some nice sunsets while we were there. Also it was crazy windy for awhile. At one point it was blowing so hard that Emery was getting a little upset so I went into our tent to feed her. The tent was staked down and had our stuff in it, plus me and Emery. All of a sudden a huge gust of wind came and BLEW THE TENT OVER WITH US INSIDE! It rolled twice and then we stopped thanks to John who had caught us as we were heading towards the fire. The tent poles were shattered and the loops for the stakes had ripped off. Luckily Tobin and Whitney brought duct tape so we patched it up and it worked just fine. After that gust the wind died down and we had great weather for the rest of the trip. But it was exciting, to say the least!

Boise Zoo

While we were in Idaho we took a trip to the zoo. It had been a few years since I went last and they've made some good improvements. We went on the "Wallaby Walk-about" where the wallabies just hop around and come right up to you. One even tried to escape out of the fence with us. We also got to pet a huge Flemish rabbit and a skunk!

Butterfly from the butterfly exhibit
The best part was feeding the giraffe. Honestly, I didn't think it was going to be that cool, but it TOTALLY WAS! You held up a leaf and the giraffe's tongue just snatched it right out! The special animal exhibits are always better than I think they will be. Like when we went to the Washington DC Zoo. Everybody was all excited about the panda and buying panda bags and stuffed panda bears and talking about the cute panda. I kept thinking, "It's just a panda, what's the big deal?" But then we went and saw it. ALL he did was sit behind this big pane of glass and eat bamboo but we sat and watched him for 15 MINUTES! A panda. Eating bamboo. I thought it was the cutest thing in the world and couldn't take my eyes off him. Then I wanted a panda shirt, bag, lanyard, keychain, hat, hoodie, and notebook. But, I digress. Here's some more pictures.
